SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
Spring is in the air! I’m looking forward to the bright colours and beautiful spring trends. As the spring sets in, tuck those dark clothes away from your view and make room for brighter hues. The spring colour trends (below) look amazing and there are so many different ways to incorporate these colours in any outfit.
This Spring is all about flower power, tribal prints, colour blocking, abstract art, sport couture, and sorbet shades. To get you prepared for spring, here’s a breakdown of these fashion trends.
SPRING TRENDS BREAKDOWN
FLOWER POWER -Beautiful flower-petal prints are taking over the runway, similar to this piece designed by Jason Wu.

TRIBAL PRINTS- This trend consists of strong, graphic prints. Since they are strong prints, it usually works best on soft fabrics and simple shapes. This shirt from FOREVER 21 is a great example of the tribal prints.
COLOUR BLOCKING & ABSTRACT ART- Yes, it is back again! Use loud colour combinations to create a dynamic look. My favourite colour combination is anything with hot pink!
Abstract art involves using the colour block scheme to play with abstract shapes. On the right is a beautiful piece from Victoria Beckham’s Spring 2012 Collection.

SPORTS COUTURE- Think of a sweatshirt paired with a fitted skirt. Athletic meets couture. This ensemble by Alexander Wang (left) is a great spring look which displays this trend perfectly.
SORBET SHADES- Sorbet shades are taking over this spring. The Phillip Lin ensemble, shows off a great way to coordinate these shades together. I love the combination of pretty pale colours!
FAVOURITE ITEM FOR SPRING:
Statement piece pants
Vibrant-toned pants can be appropriate for almost any attire. Paired with a blouse, vibrant-toned pants can brighten any standard work attire. (Chloe, left)

For a night out, try a sheer crop shirt with high-waisted pants. (Rebecca Minkoff, right) Or for a simple shopping trip, colourful denim can be paired with a simple shirt.

That’s all for Spring fashion trends 2012!
